  1. Housekeeping

    v1.24.0

    • Internal changes only — nothing you can see.
  2. Burger of the Day

    v1.23.0

    • A new theme shared with the Sudoku game: a seaside burger restaurant, with the title as the shop sign and the well as the chalkboard the day's special goes on.
  3. The game is now called Slamstack

    v1.22.0

    • New name, same game — and a new home at slamstack.meatslam.com. The old address redirects.
  4. A layout that fits on a phone

    v1.21.0

    • Hold, Next and your score now sit in a strip above the board, so you can see what is coming without scrolling.
    • The board sizes itself to the screen instead of overflowing it — everything you need to play fits without scrolling, on-screen controls included.
    • The on-screen buttons are a little smaller, leaving more room for the board.
  5. Sturdier high-score saving

    v1.20.0

    • The high-score API now turns away oversized and malformed requests instead of trying to process them.
  6. Housekeeping

    v1.19.0

    • Internal changes only — nothing you can see.
  7. Housekeeping

    v1.18.0

    • Internal changes only — nothing you can see.
  8. Housekeeping

    v1.17.0

    • Internal changes only — nothing you can see.
  9. Seventeen new themes, and line clears you can see

    v1.16.0

    • Seventeen new themes, bringing the total to thirty — including Aqua, Deep Space, Newspaper, ZX Spectrum, Starship and Aperture.
    • Themes are now grouped into Light and Dark in the picker, which was getting hard to scan.
    • Clearing rows now shows you it happened — the completed lines flash and collapse before the stack drops, and clearing four at once gets an animation worth the effort.
    • Five themes were using a plain typewriter font instead of the one they were designed around.
    • Several themes had two pieces close enough in colour to be mistaken for each other mid-game.
    • The pause and game-over screens now follow the theme, instead of white text on a black panel over a white board.
    • The high-score form remembers your name.
    • Holding down hard drop no longer fires off several pieces at once.
    • A "What's new" link at the bottom of the game, listing every version and what changed in it.
  10. Housekeeping

    v1.15.0

    • A fix to how the game reports itself as healthy when running in a container. Nothing you can see.
  11. Security update

    v1.14.0

    • Updated to a patched version of the web framework the game is built on, closing a published vulnerability.
  12. Housekeeping

    v1.13.0

    • Build and documentation tidy-up. Nothing you can see.
  13. Safer high-score names

    v1.12.0

    • Names entered on the high-score table are cleaned up before they are stored, so nobody can put anything harmful in one.
  14. Housekeeping

    v1.11.0

    • A follow-on fix to the previous release. Nothing you can see.
  15. High scores actually save

    v1.10.0

    • Scores were silently failing to save on a fresh install — the database was never being set up. Fixed.
  16. Housekeeping

    v1.9.0

    • Packaging changes. Nothing you can see.
  17. Housekeeping

    v1.8.0

    • The server now reports its own health correctly, so it stops being restarted while it is perfectly fine.
  18. Save your score without leaving the game

    v1.7.0

    • The save-your-score form moved into the game-over screen instead of sitting under the board.
    • Rotation directions swapped to match the genre convention — they were the wrong way round.
    • The keyboard controls list is hidden on iPhone, where there is no keyboard to use it with.
  19. Touch controls out of the way

    v1.6.0

    • The on-screen buttons are hidden by default and appear on their own on an iPhone. There is a toggle in the start screen either way.
    • Vaporwave and Cyberpunk reworked — Vaporwave is a bright 80s mall pink, Cyberpunk went to pure black with the neon turned all the way up.
    • Changing the theme no longer restarts your game.
    • A version page, so you can tell what you are running.
  20. Housekeeping

    v1.5.0

    • Changes to how the game is hosted. Nothing you can see.
  21. Vaporwave, Cyberpunk, and a better fit on iPhone

    v1.4.0

    • Two new themes: Vaporwave and Cyberpunk.
    • The board now fits properly on an iPhone, clear of the notch and the home bar.
    • Bigger, more reliable touch buttons.
  22. Housekeeping

    v1.3.0

    • Fixes to how the game is packaged and served. Nothing you can see.
  23. Hold a piece for later

    v1.2.0

    • Hold a piece and swap it back in when it suits you — F or C on a keyboard, or the HOLD button.
    • Three new themes: Synthwave, Nord and Solarized.
  24. First playable game

    v1.1.0

    • A complete block-stacking game you can actually play: the seven standard pieces, a ghost showing where the current one will land, hard drop, and a score that climbs with the level.
    • Plays on a phone. The layout resizes, and there are on-screen buttons when there is no keyboard.
    • A high-score table, saved between visits.
